Book Your Stay At Stonham Barns Carp Lodges

Stonham Barns Carp Fishery is located in the heart of Suffolk, it is a newly purpose dug carp fishery aimed at providing tranquil and luxury fishing.

It has been stocked with 75 hand picked fish that were based on beauty and growth rates to provide the best carp fishing experience for all anglers. Each swim contains a pod with all home comforts making it perfect for families or non-anglers that want to come along. Including, a double bed, bunk beds, nest of tables, sofa, TV, fridge and heating.

Next to the pod is the swim area with ground that would enable both a rod pod as well as bank sticks to ensure it’s not limited to rod pods only. Each lodge easily sits a family of 4. Unfortunately no pets allowed.

The lake has been completed lined with reeds and lily pads and a whole host of trees that will fully take shape in the next few years. The lake itself is around varies from 4-13ft with averages of 7-8ft around most of the lake. On one end of the lake, 3 islands have been added that has been grass seeded and has weeping willows planted along it as well. Trees will be between each pod to enable a private feeling and only having 5 pods over 2 acres allows enough space to fish comfortably.

Check in will be at Midday and check out will be 10am the next day, multiple nights can be booked so day of departure will also be 10am on the day you leave.

Lodge 1

Like all our lodges, the lodge sleeps 4 comfortably with a double bed and bunk beds, there is also a sofa, TV, Wi-Fi, Mini Fridge with the toilet block being behind Lodge 1. Situated on the right hand side of the lake, opposite end to the islands, there are reeds and willows trees planted to the right margin and contains average depths of 7ft. A few rod lengths off the far margin will be on the bottom of the shelf and tight to it will present shallower areas. This swim has the most prolific sessions usually just off the shelf towards the back margin fishing very accurately. Lodge 2

Like all our lodges, the lodge sleeps 4 comfortably with a double bed and bunk beds, there is also a sofa, TV, Wi-Fi, Mini Fridge with the toilet block being behind Lodge 1. Lodge 2 is the first of the lodges that has more open water access towards the middle of the lake although most of the bites to be had are still usually off the back margin where the shallow shelf drops into some deeper water. If you’re looking for a social lodge next to someone you know this is a good bet being between 1 and 3 and having open water access. Lodge 3

Like all our lodges, the lodge sleeps 4 comfortably with a double bed and bunk beds, there is also a sofa, TV, Wi-Fi, Mini Fridge with the toilet block being behind Lodge 1. Lodge 3 can be a perfect social lodge if you wanted between 2 and 4, the water access you get is the open water directly in the middle of the lake and of course, the back margin where the fish do most of their patrols. Tight to this shelf lined with lily pads and some trees is shallow where the drop off into deeper water is still a few rod lenghts off the back. Lodge 4

Like all our lodges, the lodge sleeps 4 comfortably with a double bed and bunk beds, there is also a sofa, TV, Wi-Fi, Mini Fridge with the toilet block being behind Lodge 1. Lodge 4 fishes up to the islands and is the last swim on this bank, it pretty much has it all on a fishing front! There is a deep hole in front of the middle island where the carp love, there is a shallower marginal island to your left and you also have the furthest island towards the back margin so that all bases are covered. Lodge 5

Like all our lodges, the lodge sleeps 4 comfortably with a double bed and bunk beds, there is also a sofa, TV, Wi-Fi, Mini Fridge with the toilet block is furthest away from this lodge though as it is located behind Lodge 1. Lodge 5 is our most spacious lodge and also our most private being situated behind the 3 islands. The depths are shallower here as this was an extension to the original lake. The depths are around 3-4ft but still plenty of bites to be had if you’re quiet!
